Spenser Confidential – Netflix
Mark Wahlberg is back with another movie with long-time collaborator Peter Berg. They’ve worked together on Lone Survivor, Patriot’s Day and Deepwater Horizon so if they’re up your alley then you’re in luck.
Wahlberg plays a disgraced former Boston police officer who teams up with a new partner played by Winston Duke (Get Out, Us), to find the killers of his former police captain.
Take my money!
Hunters – Amazon Video
Logan Lerman stars in this 70s set drama following a band of Nazi Hunters who discover that Nazi war criminals are conspiring to establish a third reich in the United States.
The cast is rounded off by none other than Al Pacino and Ted Mosby himself, Josh Radnor. Definitely an interesting take on alternative history.
Ugly Delicious – Netflix
Season 2 of superstar chef David Chang’s colourful look at the world of food has finally been added to Netflix. In the show David along with celebrity mates explores what makes each country’s cuisine so special. Going from everywhere to Michelin star restaurants to food trucks.
This is one for all the foodies out there.
Midsommar – Amazon Video
Not for the faint hearted this one. Ari Aster follows up his runaway hit Hereditary with Midsommar. A psychological horror film set exclusively in daylight.
It stars Florence Pugh as Dani, a deeply troubled girl who travels with friends to Sweden for a festival that happens every 90 years. Things soon turn sour though after they realise the festival is run by a pagan cult.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Formula 1: Drive to Survive – Netflix
For anyone deeply affected by the postponement of the Formula 1 season this might provide you with some comfort. Netflix’s deep dive into the world’s fastest sport is back for second season and it’s fascinating stuff.
Taking a look behind the curtain of the drivers and teams, you’ll come away with a new found respect for the drive and commitment that both the drivers and engineers have to their craft.
